Absurdism and Satire for the Win

When I started writing this book (which is nothing more than sheer absurdist literature about a fictional pirate hunt on a fictional US Navy destroyer), I intended it only as a means of comic relief for my parents as my mom battles cancer.

The premise of the book is simple. It’s a mid-century retelling of Jason and the Argonauts, complete with an All-star line-up of Greek mythological characters. We have Jason, The Sirens, The Furies, and Sisyphus. And Cerberus and Charon and Ulysses. I’ll not spoil it here. You can figure out who’s who.

During the writing, I became aware that several other people close to me were battling cancer right along with my mom. Since the project started, some of those battles have been lost and some are still ongoing.

I’m taking this opportunity to announce that a portion of the royalties for every copy sold will go to the American Cancer Society and the Susan B. Komen Foundation to further the fight against this terrible illness.

Come join Timothy and the crew of the USS Archibald T. Gould (DD 246) on their ridiculous journey and help those battling cancer win this fight.
